Uberflip Cell Phone Loyalty

We thought it’d be interesting to see what cell phones our tech-savvy team is repping here at Uberflip. After we asked everyone what phone they owned, we noticed some interesting trends in preferences. Check it out below!

Android

Android phones are the most popular at Uberflip with over 55% of our team owning phones that use this operating system. Interestingly, with the exception of one person, all of our Dev team owns an Android phone. Robert Damiano, Uberflip’s Lead Java Developer, explains:

“I prefer Android phones because you can get way better hardware for a better price than Apple devices.  I think the entire dev team has Android because they share in my reason and they like to have full control of their device.  Android is highly configurable, whereas Apple locks you into an experience and you can only get to do what you want if you jailbreak the device.”

iPhone

The remainder of the team, except for one person (a Blackberry user), owns an Apple iPhone. The majority of our team’s iPhone users have the new iPhone 5 with the oldest iPhone in use being the 3GS. Nathan Virtue, Uberflip’s Customer Support Lead, shares why he loves his iPhone:

“I love my iPhone for all the features that any smartphone would offer: web information instantly anytime/anyplace, portable media access like music and video, and my schedule comes with me at all times in a paperless form. Compared with other devices, I just find the iPhone provides a much smoother native experience with almost perfect harmony between software/hardware.”

Blackberry

While the rest of the team has taken their side in the Apple – Android war, one Uberflip team member remains a Blackberry fan. Lauren Atmore, Client Retention Specialist, explains her Blackberry loyalty:

“I love my blackberry because it has a keyboard. I’m excited to hear that they’ll have a keyboard version with the new blackberry 10. I still listen to my music on a record player and the radio, so the lapse in development doesn’t bother me.”

So there you have it! Check out below for a breakdown of our team’s Smartphone ownership.
