Joe Chernov’s 10 Rocking Products for Advanced Content Marketers
Uberflip is thrilled to be included in Joe Chernov’s list of 10 rocking products for advanced content marketers at Content Marketing World this week! Joe segmented his list based on content creation, distribution, and analytics – essentially providing the ultimate content marketer’s toolkit.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Joe is a content marketing rockstar. He’s the VP of Marketing at Kinvey, a mobile backend as a service start-up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was also named “Content Marketer of the Year” in 2012 by the Content Marketing Institute.
Check out below for his top 10 list of products for advanced content marketers!
Content Creation
Solutions designed to accelerate and scale the development of new or curated content.
1. Percolate
Percolate is a content creation tool that helps brands create tailored content for their audiences at a “social scale”. Through their intelligent platform, Percolate helps brands both scale and sustain their digital content strategies.
Percolate’s motto is to systematize, inspire, and evolve a brand’s digital content strategies.
As Joe describes, Percolate fosters a “cradle to grave to reincarnation” content creation strategy; they help brands identify the topics their audience is interested in, share targeted content across relevant social channels, and refine recommendations by learning about the brand over time.
2. LookBookHQ
LookBookHQ is a content creation and storytelling tool that allows B2B marketers combine original and third-party content into a visual storybook that can be shared across social channels. LookBook makes use of pinterest-style tiles that marketers can annotate with text to better engage their audience; they can embed images, PDFs, infographics, videos, and web pages directly into their LookBook.
Joe explains that the LookBook’s gated content tiles result in a 120% higher conversion rate than text links alone. LookBook also integrates with marketing automation to provide a better understanding of how prospects and customers engage with your content.
3. Uberflip
This year’s Content Marketing World also marks the debut of our latest product, Hubs. As Joe highlighted in his presentation, Hubs empower marketers to take control of their content by creating a centralized, responsive and engaging front-end experience with no programming required.
Marketers can also build a list of prospects and leads through customizable Call-to-Actions that appear naturally within their content. Our focus is to ensure that Hubs is a cost effective solution that works alongside the modern marketer’s toolkit by creating plug-and-play integrations with leading marketing software solutions.
To quote Joe, “the ‘packaging’ alone is share-worthy.” If you’re looking for a great example of Hubs, check out the CMI Hub for real-time tweets, pictures, content, and videos of #CMWorld: hub.contentmarketinginstitute.com
4. Contently
Contently is a storytelling platform that helps brands create engaging original stories. Contently’s technology provides brands with editorial project management and content marketing tools. They also provide a network of vetted, ready-to-work journalists with experience from top editorials such as National Geographic, The Huffington Post, and Forbes.
Content Distribution
Solutions designed to expand reach, sometimes through advocacy or influencer platforms.
5. Littlebird
Littlebird is an influencer discovery and engagement tool – or as Joe puts it, Littlebird is like a “Klout that meets the ability to actually do something with the information.” Using Littlebird, brands can find influencers on any topic and discover emerging “hot topics” to share before they’ve become main stream. Littlebird’s investors include Mark Cuban, HubSpot’s Dharmesh Shah, and Joe Chernov himself.
6. Papershare
Papershare is a real-time content engagement platform that allows you to publish your content and engage with people who viewed it. Brands can distribute content across Papershare’s partner sites, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, display ads, and email alerts. Papershare’s biggest asset is in shifting the point of conversion to the content itself while also providing channel-by-channel analytics.
7. Addvocate
Addvocate allows companies to identify who is representing their brand on social media and empowers employees to engage with these individuals. Brands can also find and suggest content for their employees to share, enabling them to know that the right people are communicating the right message on behalf of a brand. Addvocate provides employee-level analytics so marketers can measure the impact of their social presence and optimize content that is performing well.
8. Influitive
Influitive is an advocate marketing tool that helps brands build an advocate community and invite customers to complete fun “challenges” to gain points and badges. It’s a platform for recruiting, mobilizing, and recognizing brand advocates and reinforces “community” by rewarding customers for their engagement. It also integrates with CRM, social networks, and marketing automation tools.
Content Analytics
Speciality tools that facilitate testing or provide actionable data on content performance.
9. Optimizely
Optimizely is your ultimate A/B testing tool to test and optimize thousands of variables, such as button colours, banners, or copy. Optimizely integrates with other popular analytics tools, such as KISSmetrics and Google Analytics, allowing for even further insight. Optimizely is launching in 9 languages and over 50 countries, with 250,000 tests done to date. Their customers include start-ups such as Kinvey, to multi-national enterprises like Starbucks.
10. Trackmaven
Trackmaven allows marketers to track all their competitors’ actions in one tool. The tool covers SEO, social, email marketing, paid media, and more in one platform that allows marketers to monitor, track, and benchmark against their competitors. As Joe puts it, Trackmaven is the ultimate “cyber stalking for geeks” with competitors’ performance being tracked in real-time.
