Come for Conex, Stay for Toronto
Thinking about flying in early or staying the weekend after Conex, but not sure how to best spend your time? While most people immediately think of The CN Tower, Drake, The Raptors, and The Tragically Hip, Toronto has even more to offer than these well-known icons. There’s literally something for everyone.
1) The true tourist. Experience some of Toronto’s most popular attractions. Ride the elevator and experience the full view of Toronto at the CN Tower, feel like a royal at Casa Loma, or go under the sea at Ripley’s Aquarium.
2) Foodies unite. Eat your way through Toronto and experience multicultural delicacies. Indulge in a food or drink tour, with local experts on bacon, Canadian beer, and more! Check out one of these unique tours and explore the city’s delicious culinary scene: Culinary Adventure Tour, Drink Toronto, Eating Through TO.
3) Outdoor adventurers. North of the wall, outdoor escapes are calling your name. Take photos of the beautiful Toronto skyline from a kayak out on Lake Ontario, ride a bike through the Toronto Islands, or go on an urban adventure at Evergreen Brickworks or the Distillery District.
4) Sports fans. Go watch one of Toronto’s finest sports teams. This season you can see the Toronto Blue Jays play at the Rogers Centre and 2017 MLS champions, TFC at BMO Field.
5) Celebrity obsessed. Drake or Justin Bieber sightings around the city, particularly in Yorkville, where Conex is being held, are definitely a possibility.
6) Architecture admirers. Get a tour guide to walk you through the city. There are architecture tours and haunted walks which will give you a different view of Toronto. Try the Haunted Walk of Toronto or Toronto Architecture Tour.
7) Art enthusiasts. Toronto has numerous world-class museums like the ROM and AGO, or if you’d rather enjoy the sun, you can take in all the street art your heart desires at Graffiti Alley.
8) Fashion-lovers. Live like a true Torontonian and enjoy the Queen West and Yorkville lifestyle, or check out the Bata Shoe Museum. Toronto is known for its unique street style.
9) Musicians and music buffs. Walk down the street to a bar such as Orbit Room, enjoy live jazz at The Rex, or head to The Hideout to enjoy some live music. Toronto is full of local talent.
10) Financial perks. If you are visiting Toronto from another country, revel in the benefit of the exchange rate! More money to do ALL THE THINGS!
So much to do and so little time! How will you spend your time in Toronto (besides attending Conex that is!)?
