One of the biggest challenges content creators face is getting their documents into the hands of readers. Online publishing has made this process significantly easier by reducing costs and allowing for instant access regardless of location; however, electronic documents have their own challenges as well. Easier creation and distribution tools also mean that the barrier to entry has been dramatically lowered, enabling anyone and everyone to be a publisher in their own right. The challenge now becomes determining the best way to break through the clutter and make your documents shine.
In today’s blog post I’m going to go over some of the promotional tools that are available with Uberflip. We’ve spent a lot of time and effort developing a system to ease the discovery process for both you and your readers. This guide will show you the options that we have available to easily reach your audience and entice them to check out your great content!
Flipbooks are accessed via the browser with a URL, which makes it very easy to share your content. You can include this URL in whatever other promotional materials you use: on your website, in emails, on your social networks or QR codes (just to name a few). For more information on how this works and the best ways to use your URLs, click here to see our post on Linking to Your Flipbooks.
If you’re active on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest or any other social network, posting a link to your Flipbook is a quick way to reach your followers. If you’re not so active or just starting out, you can enable your readers to share your content for you by placing social sharing buttons right overtop of your pages. With a single click or tap, the reader can post a link to your Flipbook on the social network of their choice and share their excitement with their followers.
To really grab your audience’s attention, consider adding a Mini Flipbook to your website. This handy promotional tool displays a small version of your Flipbook and automatically flips through its pages. When a page is clicked, readers are then brought directly to the full-sized page within the Flipbook that caught their eye. To embed a Mini Flipbook, head over to your Folder within the Uberflip Application, grab the auto-generated code and embed it into your website.
If you want your Flipbook to be more integrated with your website, you can embed it within an iFrame to achieve this effect. This will display your Flipbook in a window on your site, rather than requiring the reader to click on a link to open it up in a new browser window. To see this in action, click here to see PowerBlock Magazine’s use of iFrame embedding.
Search Engine Optimization
If your PDF is optimally set up before uploading to Uberflip, our Application will be able to extract the text from your pages. This is key for search engine optimization, which will help rank your Flipbooks higher in search results when people look for related content.
